Theme : The Urgency of Change
Five Day Dialogue Intensive
ONLINE EVENT
Program Description
Why is there not an urgency to change? I might want to improve, feel better, or achieve more – but this is always change according to a self-centred motive. Alternatively, I may realise that the outside world is in deep crisis, but fail to see what that has to do with me personally.
Many modern spiritual and non-dual approaches offer comfort by pointing us toward a pre-existing “god or love within.” Krishnamurti, however, offers no such cushion. He points instead to a stark, immediate reality: the profound lack of love, compassion, and right relationship in our lives, which is in dire need of our urgent attention. He is pointing at a fundamental revolution in the entire way we live – both individually and collectively.
In this light, there is little point in inquiring into the mere outward adjustments or gradual personal improvements so popular in society today. This is not self-help or personal development. K speaks about giving all our energy “to bring about a deep, inward transformation or revolution.”
In these five days online, our group will examine this topic as it directly applies to our everyday lives. We are not gathering to understand, accept, repeat, or better adhere to Krishnamurti’s insights. Our dialogue together is not an invitation to speculate on this radical change; it is a shared, careful inquiry into the clear, immediate, and absolute necessity for it.
“The crisis is not in the outer world, but in consciousness itself. And until we understand this crisis, not superficially, not according to some philosopher, but actually deeply understand it for ourselves by looking into it and examining it, we shall not be able to bring about a change. We are concerned with psychological revolution and this revolution can only take place when there is the right kind of relationship between human beings.”
