Program Description
What is it that needs to “wake up” in us?
I seem already to be awake in life. Going about my business, my relationships, my interests, various entertainments…
But I also see that I do not feel inwardly free. I do not love wholeheartedly: I have frustrations and conflict with others; also within myself. I am stuck in certain situations that I cannot get free of.
I say I am “aware” of all this and what do I mean by that? I might know this about myself, but am I directly aware of these states of mind taking place in real time?
Psychologically we appear awake in our group dialogue inquiry; or perhaps that is mental stimulation. Are we aware of our conditioned reactions that are activating in us most of the time, or do we let our assumptions keep us asleep?
So, what might wake us up?
“One can go on endlessly reading, discussing, piling up words upon words, without ever doing anything about it. It is like a man that is always ploughing, never sowing, and therefore never reaping. Most of us are in that position”
